It takes 6-8 weeks to adjust your skin to using a routine daily and 4-6+ months to see best results. Think of this as a workout for your skin. Your skin gradually becomes healthier, more radiant, and able to tolerate active ingredients more often.

Apply to palm, then press into skin.
• Slight tingling can be common within 2-3 days of use then should subside.
• Most start with 10% or 15% ascorbic acid then increase up to 20% when repurchase.
• More sensitive skin will use an ascorbic acid derivative- THD ascorbate.

If retinoids are like lifting weights for your skin, toning pads — a chemical and physical exfoliator — are like running... still an exercise, although maybe not as intense, but one affects the other.
•  Start these 1-3 times weekly and increase them up to twice daily based on skin type.

• Apply an english-pea sized amount to the entire face at night by dabbing in 4 places.
• ALWAYS apply moisturizer- after, before, or you can mix it with moisturizer.Purging, aka breakouts, in the first 2-4+ weeks of starting a routine, is normal and should gradually improve. These are future breakouts surfacing as the oil gland is treated.
• If you're using and tolerating a stronger retinoid than recommended and in the routine, keep using it. You can always alternate with a less strong retinoid as your skin adjusts.
• Currently, there's no clear understanding of how much retinol is safe during pregnancy. For that reason, it's recommended that pregnant people avoid using products containing retinol while pregnant and nursing.

Listen to your skin and let it guide you on how often to apply. If your skin is itchy, irritated, or burning, that's the sign to use the active ingredients- toners/exfoliators and retinoids- less. It's never wrong to cleanse, use serums, moisturize and skip the actives. We're in this for the long haul! Depending on your skin type, you may eventually use the active ingredients simultaneously as your skin becomes healthier, while others will never be able to, and that's ok!

Prioritize sunscreen, retinoid+ moisturizer, and vitamin c serum then a toner. These have the most important ingredients!

Below is your medical-grade routine explained.

AM Cleanser

MDSolarSciences Wash Away Cleanser

It's magical. The one cleanser I recommend everyone start with- no matter age or gender or skin type. It's not an oil cleanser but functions like one in that it gently removes eye makeup and fortifies the skin's natural protective moisture barrier. Plus THE PRICE makes it extra magical.

AM Treat

SBS Daily Toning Pads

Textured toning pads are the perfect way to add chemical and physical exfoliation to prevent and treat breakouts as well as discoloration from past breakouts and sun. They're easy-to-use and great for post-workouts, travel, teenagers, or anyone that loves to keep things simple. They also reduce the appearance of razor bumps on both men and women and can be used after shaving for prevention.

AM Vitamin C

Obagi Vitamin C Serum 15% or 20%

Vitamin C serum is the first place to spend money in your routine. Medical-grade vitamin C serum can't be replicated at the drugstore. I prefer Obagi Vitamin C Serums to other medical-grade brands due to the texture and price. It's antioxidant of the morning skincare routine. If you can tolerate 15% you can most likely tolerate 20% but I recommend increasing to 20% after using 1 bottle (6 month supply) of 15%.

AM Eye Cream

Epionce Renewal Eye Cream

The hands-down BEST EYE CREAM. The texture, ingredients, price, plus it's made for those with extra sensitive skin. I've tried 40+ eye creams, and this is it. There are others that are similar, but they will be over $100. I love that it's in a pump bottle as well, and this is the skincare definition of just a dot not a lot. It lasts for 4-6 months because a little goes so far. If you don't like it email me- I want to learn why!

AM SPF Moisturizer

EltaMD UV Clear

My go-to daily SPF moisturizer because it's packed with so many wonderful ingredients and is lightweight enough for all skin types. The tinted option is so subtle but gives a bit of coverage and simply blend with another product to make the perfect color and coverage.

PM Oil Cleanse/Make-Up Remover

EltaMD Oil In Gel Cleanser

Oil cleansing is the secret to healthy, beautiful skin!EltaMD Oil-in-Gel Cleanser is the perfect two in one cleanser. It works better than straight oil cleansers, IMO. The unique texture gives Pond's Cold Cream the ease it offers without the residue. It combines the effectiveness of a traditional cleanser with the benefits of an oil cleanser. It's my pick for breakout-prone skin and can be used twice daily.

PCA Daily Exfoliant

The shower is an entire experience for me. I HAVE TO HAVE exfoliation in the shower for my face and body. The smell from natural botanicals is so calming to me. This exfoliant is gentle and not very concentrated so I wouldn't hesitate to recommend for all skin types.

PM Eye Cream (Same as AM)

Epionce Renewal Eye Cream

PM Treat

Adapalene Gel 0.1% Topical Retinoid For Acne

Adapalene 0.1% is the ONLY prescription-grade retinoid available otc. In fact, it was a prescription until 2017. Retinoids are the first line treatment for breakouts, pores, discoloration, wrinkles, sun damage. EVERYONE should use a retinoid except in pregnancy and breastfeeding. Retinoid strengths are like lifting weights for your skin.

Are you pregnant or breastfeeding? Use this PM Treatment.

PM Treat

Epionce Lite Lytic Tx

My pick for retinoid alternative during pregnancy or those that can't tolerate a retinoid. Of course check with your OB before using. Azelaic acid is universally considered safe in pregnancy. This product combines azelaic acid with salicylic acid <2% (so less than what is at the drugstore) to treat breakouts from 2 angles so double the efficiency. I like to use this in place of toner twice daily or some skin types- especially for those who can't tolerate a retinoid well.

PM Moisturize

Obagi Hydrate Light Weightless Gel

I enjoy using this as my go-to lightweight moisturizer to use in the morning and in summer. To me, it's an elevated version of Hydroboost Gel-Cream moisturizers. The gel cream formulation leaves the complexion immediately replenished without clogging pores. It also is a favorite to apply before a make-up refresh.

Note: While our Pregnancy-Safe suggestions are generally considered safe in pregnancy, all products used while pregnant or breastfeeding should be approved by your OB.
